Santry Rush as Jacques Renard
Originally from Austin, Santry moved
to Waco, TX in 1995 to study theatre
under Jim Rambo
at McLennan
Community College. At MCC he met
fellow Aletheia founding company
member Richard Ramsey in a
freshman production of Biloxi Blues.
After a two year stint in Waco, both
Rush and Ramsey moved to Houston
to continue their studies at The
University of Houston, School of
Theatre. Upon arriving, he began
working professionally around the
city in several different theatres.
Along with his theatrical work, he also
invested his time briefly in the guitar
duo Two Blushing
Pilgrims as a
singer/songwriter. After returning
from an east coast tour, he quit the
band and began
working the Houston
theatre circuit once again. He has
appeared in A Christmas Carol, The
Miser,
and will appear in Witness for
the Prosecution at Houston's Tony
Award-winning Alley Theatre.
In the fall of 2001, he connected with
Harbor Church, a house church
network in the inner city, where
spirituality became a central focus.
After 50 plays and 2,000
performances, cynicism and a broken
soul led him to help launch Aletheia
Stage
and Film Company in the winter
of 2003.
Almost immediately thereafter, he
played the role of Stone in AS&F's
award-winning film Washington's Cross.
